Lived in Taylor from 1970-2017 and best remembered fondly as a long-time principal in the Taylor School District.
As a college athlete he earned a spot in the Spring Arbor College Hall of Fame (inducted 2008).
A superb athlete growing up in Monroe – he and his brother played baseball whenever and wherever they could. He also took up golf.
At Spring Harbor, he played baseball and basketball from 1949-51.
Averaged 22 points per game during his career.
Eventually drafted by the old St. Louis Browns Major League Baseball Club, but he turned the offer down and got into education.
Started participating in the Michigan Publinx Golf Association tour in 1970 and continued through 2008.
During nearly four decades of play, he was accorded many top honors.
Also competed in both the Michigan and USA Senior Olympic programs.
Won many City of Taylor golf tournaments.
Recorded six holes-in-one and five times shot his age.
Was a member of the original Taylor Sports Hall of Fame committee.
