  • Joined Taylor Center’s pitching staff as a junior in 1988. 
  • Professional scouts following Kennedy’s Steve Avery, an Atlanta Braves’ No. 1 draft pick, were watching Kennedy play Taylor Center and liked the fastball-curveball combination of the Rams’ starter. 
  • Led Taylor Center to the Tri-River League title.
  • The team went 29-0 before losing a quarterfinal game against Detroit Catholic Center, 2-1.
  • He finished 13-0 on the mound that season.
  • Named All-League, All-District, All-Region and All-State. 
  • A fabulous combination of arm, bat and speed – he hit .588 and stole 52 bases. 
  • The Seattle Mariners picked him in the ninth round.
  • Named 1990 Arizona League All-Star and minor league “Fireman of the Year”,
  • Posted 3-1 record with a 0.40 ERA by finishing 18 games.
  • Gave up just 28 hits in over 45 innings while striking out 39 and registering a 0.750 WHIP. 
  • Overall, he spent six pro seasons in the Seattle Mariners and Detroit Tigers chain, registering a 3.69 ERA and striking out 245 in 292 innings.
