George will share the history of his family immigrating to the Detroit area from Germany; his family being held at a detention center during WWII; his growing up downriver in Wyandotte; his moving to Taylor; and his participation in the establishment of the ”historic district” at Heritage Park.
Learn the basics of quilt making from start to finish. You will learn traditional and modern techniques while having fun putting together sample squares. All sessions will include demonstration and hands on.

Challenge yourself at the 2019 Taylor Winterfest 5k Race!
The race will begin at 10 a.m. and the first 100 registrants receive a bonus award. Participants will receive a custom Winterfest finisher medal, long sleeve shirt, overall male and female awards, and a RF bib tag. There will also be age group awards and a reindeer costume contest!

Then join us in the Sheridan Center to welcome Santa Claus, light the official holiday tree and then watch the fireworks display. Plarning is making yarn from out of plastic strips (plarn) cut from grocery bags. The strips are crocheted into 3'x6' mats that are distributed to the homeless. The mats are lightweight, washable, bug resistant and also benefit our environment by putting the plastic bags to good use instead of our landfills. Approximately 700-1000 bags are used to complete one mat. This group meets every Wednesday from 9:30 - 11:30 am. We always need volunteers to sort, cut or crochet. If this interests you, why not join in and help provide a means for a needy cause and pass a good deed forward. We'd love to have you!

This low impact aerobics class is a fun way to exercise and also make new friends, all while getting in shape at the same time. Her exercises are exclusively designed by her to fit the needs and challenges of the aging body. These exercises can help with balance, osteoporosis, arthritis, bone density, knee and more. Weight bearing and dynaband exercises are included as well. So shut off your TV, get off your chair and see the positive results that can happen!

New dancers, let's get on the dance floor! Learn popular country line dances one step at a time. Have fun and exercise at the same time. For those who have some line dancing experience but want to add more steps, this class is for you! The first 1 1/2 hours will be geared more toward the new and intermediate dancers.
