For companies looking to expand with the help of tax abatements or other incentives, these forms are available to you. Please also consider reading the State of Michigan's guidelines for any (or all) of the incentives you have questions or interests with.

We provide information on many incentives that businesses may qualify for below. The Economic Development Department is connected with different resources that may be helpful for your business. The Small Business Development Center (SBSC), Michigan Venture, and the Michigan Economic Growth Corporation (MEDC) are three state resources we often reach out to for those looking to expand. Types of Help

A Commercial Facilities Exemption
is a tax incentive for 1 to 12 years for a commercial property. The property must be in a Commercial Rehabilitation District. 

An Industrial Facilities Exemption  provides a tax incentive to manufacturers to enable renovation and expansion to aging facilities, assist in the building of new facilities, and to promote new high tech industries. The project must be located in an Industrial Development District. This abatement entitles the facility to exemption from real and/or personal property for 1 to 12 years. 

Michigan's Talent Resources is a helpful tool for employers looking to hire and train new employees to their company.
Grow Your Business  is a program supported by the MEDC whom aids you with information on Michigan economic patterns to best help your business development. This program provides organization to your company and helps discover weak areas within business operations. To grow your business, you are given the chance to tackle issues and maximize enterprise potential.

The Brownfield Redevelopment Act  has the purpose to redevelop areas, promote the redevelopment of certain properties with blight or contamination issues/concerns. 

The Small Business Administration is an association which makes loans available to qualifying business owners who are having trouble applying for a traditional bank loan.

Launch Detroit  is a business opportunity for entrepreneurs or small business owners who want to gain more knowledge in the trade. It is especially helpful for those who are looking for financial assistance to get their dreams up and running. Launch Detroit offers ten free business classes between the hours of 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM to develop your own business strategy. After accomplishing these classes, Launch Detroit offers micro loans from $1,000 to $2,500 to put towards your business.
