Records Bureau

The Taylor Police Department Records Bureau consists of an Officer In Charge and two Public Service Officers. The records Bureau is responsible for maintaining Police Records, Compiling information for Freedom of Information Act requests and Discovery and Subpoena records.

Accident reports are available at the records bureau or at the reports website.

Traffic Tickets

Traffic fines can also be paid at the 23rd District Court or online.

Wants or Warrants

If you want to know whether an outstanding want or warrant exists for you, you must appear in person at the front desk of Taylor Police Department or the 23rd District Court. No specific want or warrant information is provided over the phone.

Criminal Background Checks / Police Clearance

The Taylor Police Department no longer conducts police clearances and background checks. A request for criminal conviction history can be obtained through the Internet Criminal History Access Tool (ICHAT).

Information forms are available in the document rack in the Police Department lobby.

If you need a more extensive search, please contact the Michigan State Police for a "Criminal Conviction History." It must include the subject’s full name, race, sex and date of birth, or fingerprints and sent directly to the Michigan State Police.
